Diamond
Diamonds are the hardest known natural minerals. Diamond means the same as "unconquerable, undestructible". Diamonds which have brilliant cut are also called brilliants or cut diamonds. A brilliant means a round diamond cut which is considered to be demand the greatest skills in jewelry. Diamond deposits are found in Brasil, Russia, Austria, Republic of South Africa, USA or Canada.

Ruby
Ruby is a very rare mineral which is used in jewelry, considered to be one of the most valuable stones. Red-colored ruby with blue shade is highly desirable and valued. The largest and finest ruby, 23.1-carat Burmese ruby, is placed in the Museum of Natural History in the USA.

Sapphire
It is a highly valued gem stone used in jewelry production. Because of the fact that it can have various elements inside its colors also change:
- fancy color sapphire - contains a trace of vanadium, iron, chromium which change the colors into pink, orange or purple
- orange - it is also called padpardscha sapphire
- purple
- dark purple blue - they are blue in outdoor light and purple in the indoor light
- green - under fluorescent light sapphires can look grayish
- light blue - blue is considered to be the normal color of sapphires

Emerald
Emeralds come in various shades from green to blue. The clearer and brighter the stone is, the higher the price. Their value depends on cut, color and clarity but the stone is searched for by both jewelers and customers.
