The first half of the 19th century is a period of launching plenty of silver to the trade which resulted in its depreciation, it was no longer used for production of coins so silver and jewelry prices decreased. The ruins of old mines suggest that silver was excavated in Poland in the Middle Ages. The oldest found jewelry craftsmanship antiques are religious vessels. Many goldsmiths from France, Italy or Germany used to come to Poland to work on Polish 15-16th century courts.
