Silver can have plenty of uses. The article presents the most popular properties and uses of silver.


Silver can be widely used for many fields of life and manufacturing. The list contains the most popular uses:

1. To produce cutlery and vessels

2. To produce musical instruments, mostly flutes

3. To produce coins, e.g. British pound

4. In photography (alloys of silver nitrate and halides)

5. To produce electronic appliances e.g. hi-fi

6. For mirror coating

7. Catalytic properties of silver make it useful as a catalyzer or oxidation

8. To produce a silver membrane used to separate oxygen from the air.

9. Silver has some healing properties, that is why people used to store wine or vinegar in silver vessels. With the development of antibiotics people forgot about those properties of silver.
