Silver is found in nature together with sulphur and chloride as well as in ores (argentite, chlorargirite). The main sources of silver include copper, gold, lead and zinc ores. The largest producer of silver is Mexico, in 2000 Mexico produced 2492 tons of silver. Poland is also a large producer of silver, thank to the ores of copper located in Lower Silesia.
